Reavers of Rasulzade�s bas-relief are arrested
Baku / 17.01.19 / Turan: Two citizens suspected of the theft of a bas-relief of the founder of the Azerbaijani People"s Republic, Mamedemin Rasulzade, were detained.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, measures are being taken to locate and detain other participants in the abduction.
According to the same source, the abductors (their names were not disclosed) sawed the bas-relief into pieces and surrendered to the metal reception points in Sumgayit and the Binagadi district of the capital.
Parts of the bas-relief were confiscated by the police as evidence.
The theft occurred on the night of January 15. The bas-relief was removed from the house where Rasulzade was born in the village of Novkhani near Baku. -03D-
