Report on situation in prisons
The Public Alliance Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners has prepared a report: "The current state of prisons, the problem of political prisoners, the challenges ahead."
According to the press service of the Alliance, the report is based on the information provided by the former "prisoners of conscience" and political prisoners, as well as reports of local and international organizations and their analysis.
The report reflects the research in three areas - the conditions in places of detention, the rights of prisoners and the very issue of political prisoners.
The authors analyze the list of 98 political prisoners, and give some additions to it.
At the same time, the report contains recommendations to improve the conditions of detention and penitentiary infrastructure, protection of the rights and freedoms of prisoners, and to solve the problem of political prisoners.
