Baku/04.03.22/Turan: From February 1 to March 3, Azerbaijani armed forces' engineer-sapper units completely cleared more than 870 hectares of territories. As many as 227 mines and unexploded ordnance were discovered and destroyed, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence reported on Friday.
Demining of settlements, cultivation areas, roads and infrastructure in the liberated territories is currently ongoing.-06D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
