Quarantine in Azerbaijan toughened, masks are mandatory everywhere
Baku/11.19.20/Turan: The special quarantine regime in Azerbaijan is extended until 06:00 on December 28, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers said on November 19.
In addition, in Sheki, Lankaran, Gakh, Zagatala, Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Masalli, Ismayilli, Guba, Khachmaz regions, where there is a strict quarantine regime, these measures are extended until 06:00 on December 7.
Restrictions on passenger traffic in the Baku metro are extended until 06:00 on 28 December.
From 00:00 on November 21 to 06:00 on December 28, public transport will be suspended on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the country.
From 00:00 on November 21 to 06:00 on December 28, 2020, in all areas, with the exception of vital areas, including pharmacies and grocery stores, on-site services are suspended.
From November 21, 2020, during the period of the special quarantine regime, the use of medical masks is mandatory in all open and closed spaces.
Failure to comply with the rules for using a medical mask in appropriate places or wearing it entails liability in accordance with the law.
People over 65 are strongly advised not to leave their homes without need.
Agencies and organizations working in the private sector and other sectors are also advised to reduce the number of employees by up to 30% and transfer the rest of the employees to remote work.-06D-

The closure of Azerbaijan's land borders was discussed during the parliamentary session on November 25. He stated, "Opening the borders could result in an influx of hundreds of thousands of non-Azerbaijani refugees due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, in Iran, many are prepared to cross into Azerbaijan to safeguard their lives and assets amid military strikes. Such waves of refugees could lead to humanitarian, social, and cultural clashes that may threaten political stability."

On Tuesday, the General Prosecutor's Office announced the initiation of new criminal cases against agricultural product exporters who allegedly concealed their earnings abroad.
