Seventeen Users of Social Networks Arrested on Criminal and Administrative Charges
Baku / 09.07.18 / Turan: For the illegal appeals in social networks in connection with the blackout in the energy system and the attempt on the head of the Executive Power of Ganja Elmar Veliyev, 14 people have been administratively arrested in recent days. In relation to three more persons, criminal cases have been initiated.
On Monday, the Interior Ministry reported the arrest of 10 people in various cities and regions of Azerbaijan in an administrative order "for illegal calls in social networks" in connection with blackouts in the energy system and the attack on Veliyev.
Among the arrested are a journalist and an activist from the Jalilabad region Afghan Sadygov, whose detention was reported by his family on July 7.
Another 4 people were arrested administratively for a period of 10 to 25 days.
Two people are fined and another one is warned.
Three more persons have been prosecuted. However, it is not specified which articles of the Criminal Code are imputed to them. -06D--
