Shahin Mirzoyev Not Persecuted for Publishing in Azerbaijan
The Tolyshi Sado newspaper (Voice of Talysh) has never had a journalist named Shahin Mirzoyev, the chief editor of Tolyshi Sado Hilal Mammadov told Turan.
He does not know the person named Shahin Mirzoyev, who according to Armenian media, received temporary asylum in Armenia.
In turn, the chief editor of Tolyshin Sado (Voice of the Talyshs), Rafig Jalilov told Turan that Shahin Mirzali (Mirzoyev) was a correspondent of the publication on a voluntary basis in 2015.
But working with him was interrupted after he in 2016 gave up a subscription for the publication of Tolyshin Sado.
"As the chairman of the Republican Talysh Cultural Center (RTCC), I declare that the conference of RTCC on May 1, 2016 elected him a member of RTCC rule. However, his resorting to refuge in some foreign state has no relation to RTCC and our newspaper," Jalilov said.
This, he said, is "due to a purely family affair."
"His wife as a result of the incompetence of the doctors is in a difficult situation and has not been provided with proper medical care. As a result, his family requested asylum in Georgia," continued Jalilov. But this is absolutely irrelevant to RTCC. "The attempts to present it as an activity of RTCC against Azerbaijani statehood are not justified. We fight for the rights of the Talyshs in civilized methods, and do not need help from foreign countries, and especially the Armenians," said Jalilov.
According to him, Mirzali was never prosecuted for the publication in the newspaper Tolyshin Sado.
His status in RTCC will be considered at the next meeting of RTCC, Jalilov said. -06D--
