Smuggling network in the system of Customs
Baku/07.05.18/Turan: The Prosecutor General's Office, the State Security Committee and the Customs Committee issued a joint report on the illegal importation of drugs into the country. As a result of the operational activities of these departments, an organized group was formed on April 30, dealing with such operations, the report said.
So, the medicines were taken bypassing the customs control in the cargo terminal of the Baku airport and were stored at the apartment of citizen Anar Mamedov. Fifty three names of drugs banned for import into the country for a total of more than 100,000 manat were identified. These and other drugs were identified in the pharmacy "Zeitun", owned by Anar Mamedov. In total 75 names of medicines were found, said the message. Also, contraband drugs have been identified in such pharmacies in Baku as: Glucose, Avas, Fatima, Medical City, Elit, Vahid, Dokta Elite, Shafa, Tatib and others.
It was established that a foreign citizen Atesh Atanur was a regular supplier of medicines to Azerbaijan.
Officials of the Medical Service of the State Customs Service, having replaced the documentation, ensured the delivery of these medicines to the Central Hospital of the Customs Committee. In exchange, these individuals received a "rollback" of 25% of the cost of these drugs and ensured their supply to retail, the report said.

They are all charged under the Articles 200-1.2.2 (illegal drug trafficking), 206.3.2 (smuggling) and 314.2 (negligence), a measure of restraint was seized in their respect, the report said. However, the positions of these persons are not specified.
Earlier, Sadig Abduyev, the head of the customs office for air transport, Fikret Gadimaliyev, the head of the Customs Service of the Customs Service, and Araz Mammadov, the chief of the 1st cargo department of the customs service, were reportedly dismissed. -16D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
