The National Army serviceman of the extended service Orkhan Hajiyev was seriously injured when he stepped on a mine on the Gazakh direction.
According to the press service of the Defense Ministry, Hajiyev was hospitalized in serious condition, not without specifying exactly where the incident occurred.
According to the Doctrine Center for Military Journalism Studies, loss of the defense and security sector of Azerbaijan in January-May 2014 amounted to 38 people, including eight killed by enemy bullets, three stepped on mines and 27 non-combat losses.
