At 9:49 am Friday in Sheki (352 km north-west of Baku) reported a strong earthquake, a magnitude 5.9, according to the seismic service of the National Academy of Sciences.
The epicenter was located 29 km. southeast Sheki at a depth of 13 km., where the force of tremors was 7 points. The surrounding areas of strength of aftershocks was 6-5 points.
According to initial information from the local sources, there is no damage in Sheki , and no victims. However, there is not yet information from the surrounding villages.
The tremors lasted for about 20 seconds. Seismic Service has warned that within a day or more are expected after-shocks with a smaller force that will fade.
