Strong Earthquake in Southern Azerbaijan
A strong earthquake occurred in the south of Azerbaijan in the morning. According to the Seismological Center of the National Academy of Sciences, the epicenter of the tremors was located on the border of the Imishli region of Azerbaijan with Iran.
Aftershocks of magnitude 3.9 were recorded at 08:46. Three minutes later they repeated, but were weaker.
The tremors were felt in the regions neighboring Imishli with less force. Destruction or casualties have not been reported. -02D-

Well-known Azerbaijani lawyer Aslan Ismayilov has issued a public appeal to Inam Karimov, Chairman of the Supreme Court and the Judicial-Legal Council, calling for urgent reforms in the country's judicial system. Ismayilov warned that systemic corruption and procedural violations within the courts are fueling public discontent and could lead to further unrest.

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
