Youth activists from Sumgayit - Nuhu Alidzhanzade and Natig Alizadeh detained after the opposition rally on September 17 are subjected to pressure law enforcement agencies.
Both activists were detained after the rally when they went beyond "Mehsul" stadium, and were taken to the Yasamal Police Department, where there were still 37 detainees.
Having collected personal information about him the police released him at 22:00. "But while I was in the police to our house came two men in plain clothes and one policeman. They demanded from parents not to let me to the rallies," Turan was told by Alidjanzade.
Since then he has been periodically under surveillance by unknown. At the same time, law enforcement officials call him wondering what he is doing.
Another activist - Natig Alizadeh told Turan, that he also was arrested after a rally outside the stadium. The police took his explanation and erased footage on the mobile phone. "Men in civilian clothes came to our house also and asked questions about me. Parents are told that this information is necessary for a referendum," said the activist.
The next day he was summoned to the city police, but he did not go there, but also noticed spying on them. "Probably they want to establish our circle of friends and then use them for any provocations against us," said Alizadeh.
It should be noted that the authorities have repeatedly used this tactic before going to defame political activists. Usually cases of "hooliganism" with police agents are organized, and who throw drugs to activist’s belongings.
