Suspects detained for stealing citizens' money online
Baku/29.08.23/Turan: Members of a group who stole citizens' money through social networks have been detained. This is stated in the report of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry circulated on 29 August.
Members of the group deceived citizens with attractive advertisement: "Sold gold on credit" in social network "TikTok".
Previously convicted Elvin Hasanov, Logman Zayidov and Jeyhun Kerimov created fake profiles, where they lured their victims who made online payments. Then they blocked the accounts of those who paid for the "purchase".
The detainees admitted that they had caused material damage to more than 150 people.
Another operation resulted in the arrest of Kanan Badirli, who was also involved in the theft of citizens' funds from bank cards.
The investigation is ongoing. Victims of illegal actions of Hasanov, Zayidov, Kerimov and Badirli can apply to the Interior Ministry. -06В-
