The court rejected the complaint against the arrest of Rufat Muradli
Baku/07.12.23/Turan: On December 7, the Baku Court of Appeal rejected a complaint against the administrative arrest for 30 days of Rufat Muradli, the presenter of “Channel-13” Internet television, a lawyer Nazim Musayev told Turan.
He pointed out that there were no grounds for Muradli's arrest. "Apart from the police report on the commission of an administrative offense, there is no evidence. It says that Muradli "used obscene language," but nothing is said about disobeying the police."
The Khatai court arrested him for 30 days without investigating," the lawyer said. The judge of the Court of Appeal, Farid Eyubov, having failed to secure any of the defense petitions, including the admission of journalists to the courtroom, upheld the arrest decision.
* Muradli was arrested on December 2 for 30 days. The court found him guilty under Articles 510 (disorderly conduct) and 535.1 (disobeying the police) The Code of Administrative Arrests. International organizations Reporters Without Borders and the Committee to Protect Journalists condemned the arrest of the journalist and called for his release. –21B06-
