The court stopped the case against the social activist
Baku / 02.09.20 / Turan: The Neftechala District Court terminated criminal proceedings in a lawsuit against public activist Vafa Nagi. Nagi was notified of this from the court today.
The lawsuit was filed by the head of the municipal council of Khol Garagashly of the Neftechala region, Alibaly Salimova.
He demanded to bring the defendant under the Article 147.1 (defamation), 147.2 (defamation of a grave crime) and 148 (insult).
The reason for the proceedings was the claims of Nagi from Salimov for financial statements, as well as her publication about the abuse of municipal property.
While Nagi was being treated in Turkey, Salimov hastily held five meetings of the municipal council and decided to expel her from this body for not attending meetings.
According to Nagi, she is not given the City Council decision to expel her to appeal in court.
The CEC declared that it was illegal to expel a member of the municipal council without a court decision. –03B06-
