The Food Safety Agency starts checking the quality of products
Baku / 06/29/18 / Turan: On July 1, the Food Security Agency (FSA), in accordance with the presidential decree, starts to perform its full-scale activity and begins control measures at all stages of food production and consumer protection, the head of the FSA Goshgar Tahmazli said at today's press conference, monitoring of economic entities in the sphere of food production is envisaged.
Registration of business entities operating in this industry will be carried out. Then these entities will be registered with the ASAN service upon submission of the application and other documents. In addition, since July 1, the country has eliminated hygienic certificates issued to enterprises in the country.
"Goods coming from abroad, like locally produced goods, will be registered with the APB with the issuance of a safety certificate. This corresponds to an international convention in this field," Tahmazli said.
The APB was established in February 2017. It is designed to ensure regulation of food safety (development and approval of sanitary norms and regulations, as well as hygienic standards), as well as risk analysis, hygienic certification, issuance of quality certificates of products exported to foreign countries, etc.
The formation of the structure and recruitment of staff, the preparation of regulatory documents and instructions took more than a year. During this time, experts in the field of agricultural products were trained at the FSA. In the framework of the project "Strengthening Institutional Capacities in Control of Food and Feed Safety", trainings were held on topics "Food chain control", "Claim management", "Certification and control", "Communication and information technologies". The trainings were conducted by the specialists of the European Union.-0-
