The Georgian authorities restrict the import of fuel from Azerbaijan?
Tbilisi/20.05.13/Turan-BS PRESS: The opposition Labor Party has accused the government of Georgia of the artificial increase in fuel prices, according to the press service of the party on Monday.
"The power of Ivanishvili did not destroy the oil monopolies, but have taken in their own hands, and have become a major oil mafia. Traditionally they continue to rob the people by artificially increasing the price on fuel. Moreover, by order of the Ministry of Finance, the drivers banned the import of even 20 liters of fuel from Azerbaijan, in order not to compete with the dominant mafia," the statement of the party reads.
In this regard, the party "strongly demands" to abolish the Ministry of Finance, prohibiting small entrepreneurs to import cheap gas from Azerbaijan, as well as to start immediate investigation "of the criminal activities of the oil mafia."
Representatives of the Georgian government have not commented yet these allegations. -02D-
