Baku/01.02.22/Turan: On February 1, the Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance (CHI) and the Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Divisions (TƏBIB) issued a joint statement in connection with citizens' appeals.

People complain that in some private laboratories, citizens are offered to take two tests for COVID. This is explained by the fact that the first test is necessary to establish whether a person is infected. The second test is needed to determine the presence of the Omicron strain. At the same time, citizens are required to pay for both tests.

Instead of explaining the lawfulness of such a requirement of private clinics, the Ministry of Health says that the methods of treating COVID-19 are the same and do not depend on the strain of coronavirus. The second test has no diagnostic or clinical value for treatment.

Further, the country's medical departments embark on scientific discussions about what an "omicron" looks like, how to be treated and better vaccinated.

The whole application does not answer the question - is it legal to require private clinics to pay for a second test? -02D-
