The Judicial-Legal Council punished a number of judges
Baku/12.10.22/Turan: A meeting of the Judicial-Legal Council of Azerbaijan held on October 12 discussed issues of increasing the responsibility of judges, a press release of the Council.
The work of 90 judges of was considered. Nine judges were given 6 months to "improve" their work. The powers of two judges of the Court of Appeal were terminated ahead of time on their applications.
At the meeting, eight judges were brought to disciplinary responsibility for gross violation of the requirements of the law, the creation of conditions for corruption and other shortcomings.
Decisions were made on the early termination of the judicial powers of one person, as well as on the release of one person from his position. Last year, the work of 230 judges was evaluated and 10 of them were dismissed for "professional shortcomings". ---05D---
