The opposition site is deprived of the domain
Baku/09.27.19/Turan: Founder and editor of the Bastainfo.com website Mustafa Hajibayli said that he had been taken away his domain.
According to him, on September 23, the annual payment term for the domain bastainfo.com has expired.
An hour after this, this domain was sold to another user.
"We believe that this was done by order of the authorities, because why does the other person need our domain?" He said.
Hajibeyli is negotiating with a domain seller, and is hopeful to resolve the problem if there is no order from the top.
The Ministry of Communications failed to get a comment.
The opposition website Bastainfo.com was blocked by a court decision in September 2018. The decision was motivated by the publication of inflammatory materials about the Ganja riots in July 2018.
After that, the site editor was called to the prosecutor"s office for interrogations several times. On February 21 this year, the Serious Crimes Court sentenced Mustafa Hajibayli to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment on probation, convicting him of abuse of power, official forgery and appeals against the state. -21B-
