The police call the youth activists in connection with a possible protest action
Baku/17.08.17/Turan: The head of the Democratic Youth Organization Ismayil Islamoglu, the chairman of the Free Azerbaijan organization Agashirin Tarverdioglu and the youth activist Dayanat Babayev were summoned to the Main Police Department of Baku on August 17, said Babayev.
The summon of activists in the police was connected with the spread in the social network facebook of the call for holding protests in the central streets of Baku under the slogan "Freedom of Political Prisoners!".
"The deputy chief of the Criminal Investigation Department warned us that if we hold a protest action, then we will be detained. I refused to sign under the obligations, saying that the conduct of the action is my constitutional right. After that, I was verbally warned and released," Babayev said. According to him, Islamoglu and Tarverdioglu, still remain in the police department. Earlier, in connection with the activities in defense of political prisoners, the activist of the Popular Front Party Ruslan Gara was arrested for 20 days. -03B-
