The prosecutor"s office hopes to get Elshad Abdullayev
The Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan appealed to the "relevant structures" for the extradition of the former rector of the Azerbaijan International University Elshad Abdullayev . This was today told reporters by the Attorney General Zakir Garalov.
"I am convinced that he will be extradited to Azerbaijan," said Garalov.
Prosecutors accuse the man who received political asylum in France under articles 137.3 (purchase and sale of human organs) and 308.2 (abuse of official duties). Nasimi District Court of Baku has chosen arrest against Abdullayev. In the absence of Abdullaev in the country, the prosecution announced him wanted.
In this case, the Prosecutor General said nothing about the investigation into the disappearance of the brother of the former rector, Mahir Abdullayev, in 2003.
Over the last year E. Abdullaev distributed about 20 videos , in which he talks to representatives of various bodies - Ministry of Internal Affairs , Ministry of National Security , Special State Protection Service , courts, and private individuals, who offer him assistance in freeing M. Abdullayev in exchange for large cash rewards.
But so far, none of the officials have been brought to justice. -16D06-
