The prosecutor’s office threatens to punish the media for reports on popular protest
Prosecutor General's Office issued a statement warning the number of sites on the responsibility of disseminating "false" information about the popular protests in the regions of the country in January this year. In particular, the sites Jam.az, Qaynar-media and Pia.az. are accused of spreading lies. " They were forced to stop the publication of defamatory and false information. If you ignore these requirements, the prosecution will take more serious measures," the report says. Previously similar warning was made to another site: Qaynar.info. Like last time, the prosecution refers to the findings made by the Press Council on the basis of media monitoring in January.
