The trial of the participants of the "Karabakh manifestation" in 2020 is over
Baku/23.06.21/Turan: On June 22, the trial of the third group of the participants of the "Karabakh manifestation" on July 14-15 last year was over under the chairmanship of Ulvia Sadygova, judge of the Sabail District Court.
According to the verdict, all of 12 accused, including activists of the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA): Ismail Hasanov, Jeyhun Novruzov, Gunduz Mirzoev, Baba Suleymanov, Mahabbat Nagiyev, Telman Seifullayev, Ramid Nagiyev, as well as non-party activists Jeyhun Mammadov, Ismail Mammadov, Emin Huseynzade, Fariz Mammadov and Vusal Guliyev, were found guilty and sentenced to 2 years and 10 months of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 2.5 years.
All of them were charged under Articles 127.2.1 (intentional infliction of less serious damage to the health of a person engaged in official activities), 186.2.1 (damage or destruction of other people's property), 233 (violation of public order) and 315.1 (use of force against a police officer) of the Criminal Code.
None of the convicts pleaded guilty regarding the case as "political put-up job".
Earlier, another 24 defendants of the case also got suspended terms.
Thus, the trials of all the accused in these events are over.
* On July 14, 2020, a spontaneous demonstration of thousands of people began in Baku demanding to start a war for the liberation of Karabakh. The march lasted all night and ended early in the morning on July 15. Some demonstrators entered the parliament building following which the premises were damaged. -16D06-
