The US Ambassador congratulated Nigar Yagublu
The US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta congratulated social activist Nigar Yagublu on the occasion of marriage. The Ambassador also congratulated her father, deputy chairman of the party "Musavat", former political prisoner Tofig Yagublu. In the message the ambassador noted that he continues to work for the liberation of Seymour Hazy, Nigar’s husband, a political prisoner. Nigar Yagublu was arrested in 2012, and released a year later. Her father was arrested in 2013 and pardoned in the current year. Imprisoned husband of Nigar is a known journalist Seymour Hazy is in prison in 2014. Recently, Nigar and Seymour married. This happened in the jail N17, where Seymour is serving his term. All of them were arrested on false and fabricated arrests. The real reason for their prosecution is political activity in the ranks of the opposition and criticism of authorirties.-03D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
