The veterinary service enhances control to prevent the spread of avian influenza
Heads of the State Veterinary Service of Azerbaijan issued a decree on animal health preventive measures in connection with the detection of avian influenza in Turkey and migration of birds. The heads of district (city) veterinary services, as well as poultry farming natural and legal persons are instructed to strengthen the supervision, and to take measures to prevent the spread of avian influenza and other bird diseases.
The Order prescribed contain poultry in closed conditions and prevent their contact with synanthropic birds (pigeons, crows, gulls and others.), to conduct monitoring of birds in backyard farms, strengthen educational work among the population, improve veterinary supervision in breeding, cultivation, transportation, sale , the slaughter of birds. It was prescribed to transport birds by especially provided for the purpose transport, to allow the sale at the presentation relevant veterinary certificates.
In case of mass deaths of wild or domestic birds it follows immediately notify the state veterinary service, send samples to a laboratory of this department, decontaminate carcasses in accordance with the instructions.
For violation of the law in the performance of these requirements emanating from the law on veterinary medicine, the perpetrators will be held accountable.
Earlier this week, temporary restrictions were imposed on the import of live birds in Azerbaijan, poultry and hatching eggs from another 12 regions of Turkey. -06D-
