Three employees of Turkish companies are arrested because of the fire in the Heydar Aliyev Center

 

The fire in the Heydar Aliyev Center on July 20 was caused due to violation of safety rules during welding works, while welding the panel boards to metal constructions on the ceiling of the museum part of the building, reads the press service of the General Prosecutor of Azerbaijan. According to the same source, on the results of the technical expertise and according to testimonies, it was revealed that the violations were committed by the employees of the Dia Holding, the main contractor and the company Treysen, a subcontractor: engineer Kaya Umit Rushen Ihsan oglu, and the contractor Şimşek Vedat Halit oglu.
 
Thus, in violation of fire safety regulations, they gave an illegal instruction to Karahan Omar Sharif Omar oglu to do  gas-welding and electric welding Works without taking measures to prevent ignition from sparks.
 
As a result of violations of the rules,   a fire began at  around 11:30 on the ceiling of the building. In this regard,  Kaya Umit Rushen Ihsan oglu, Şimşek Vedat Halit oglu and Karahan
 
Omar Sharif Omar oglu have been brought to trial under the Article 225.2 (violation of fire safety rules, resulting in serious crime.) Preventive measure  for them is an arrest.
 
Investigative-operational measures to determine persons responsible for monitoring fire safety during the works at the Center and other destinations of the investigation, are ongoing.   Dia Holding and Treysan are  the Turkish companies.
