Trial in the case of the PFPA activist Mamed Ibrahim
Baku / 04.12.18 / Turan: The judicial investigation of the criminal case against the adviser to the chairman of the Popular Front Party (PFPA) Mamed Ibrahim continued today in the Surakhani District Court of Baku.
Mamed Ibrahim was arrested on September 30, 2015, and convicted of hooliganism for 3 years. He was recognized by human rights activists as a political prisoner.
The day before the end of the term, he was charged with illegal possession of prohibited items (knife), under which he faces up to 6 months in prison.
On September 28, the Yasamal Court chose a preventive measure in the form of an arrest for 2 months with regard to Ibrahim.
During today's meeting, chaired by Jeyhun Gadimov, five witnesses were heard - members of the jail in which M. Ibrahim was serving his sentence, Turan was told by the son of oppositionist, Turan Ibrahim.
According to him, the warders gave confused testimony and contradicted each other. At the request of the defense, 4 more witnesses will be interrogated - one operative of the colony and three convicts, two of whom have already been released.
The judge decided to continue the court hearing on December 25th. -06B-
