Two More Opposition Members Arrested
An activist of the Khatai branch of the Popular Front Party Vasif Muzafarov was detained by police on February 22 at the exit from his house and taken to the police.
He was withdrawn his mobile phone and forced to delete his page on Facebook, the Deputy Chairman of PFPA Gezal Bayramli told Turan.
On February 23 the district court arrested the activist for 30 days for disobeying police, she said, describing it as a continuation of the mass repressions against members of the opposition party. According to her, for the last two weeks eight members of the party have been arrested.
In turn, on 24 February in the town of Sheki the local court arrested an activist of the party Musavat Yousif Garayev for 25 days. As stated in the party report, the police took Garayev from home and accused him of insubordination.
Colleagues of the opposition member believe that the reason for the arrest was the zonal conference of members of Musavat held in his flat on February 19. - 03B-
