Video surveillance refutes the version of the prosecution in the "Ganja case" - human rights activist
Baku /05.07.19/Turan: Today a meeting on the case of another group of defendants on the Ganja events was held in the building of the Sabunchu district court.
Human rights activist Ogtay Gulaliyev told Turan that for the first time during the trial of the Ganja events, recordings from surveillance cameras were shown in the places of alleged unlawful acts. "The footage shows that, as the main participant in these events, Rashad Beyukkishiyev, with a dagger in his hands, attacks the police officers (July 10, 208 in Ganja). (According to the official version, Beyukkishiyev was liquidated on July 13, 2018 while providing armed resistance to special forces - note. Red.). The shots clearly show Beyukishiyev single-handedly attacks the police. Nobody helped him. On the square, except for him, no one owned a weapon. None of the defendants attacked police officers, threw stones at them, did not resist the police, nobody blocked Beyukkishiyev," said Gyulaliyev. On the other hand, according to Gulaliyev, the shots show inaction of the police, while Beyukishiyev, waving his dagger, quietly walks around the square.
"Police officers are contemplative. Nobody bothers him, just look at what is happening, and some leave the square. And only after Beyukkishiyev strikes at the police officers, on the bus of the city route number 4 (?!), Soldiers of the Internal Troops arrive at the square and then the rally allegedly accelerates. Police officers who have not fulfilled their professional duties are still at their posts, and dozens of innocent people are under arrest," said Gyulalyev. According to him, the defendants asked the prosecutor why they are now being tried.
"In response, the state prosecutor told the defendants "why were you in the square, why was Beyukkishiyev next to you (?!). In fact, from the words of the prosecutor, it follows that people were arrested just because the criminal was passing by them," said Gyulalyev. He called the display of video frames "moment of truth" in the Ganja case - the complete collapse of the prosecution version.
Persons involved in this case are charged under Article 120 (murder), 315.2 (armed resistance to the police), 220.1 (organization of riots), 224 (illegal violation of weapons), 277 (terror) of the Criminal Code, etc.
