Woman strangled her son, expelling the devil
On October 11 Nazilya Gulibekova born in 1974 living in the House N 15 in the Yasamal district of Baku strangled her 5-year-old-son, her husband Rovshan Gulibekov told police. According to the Prosecutor's Office, the cause of this crime was membership of the wild woman in a religious sect. The police detained the woman; she said that she suffocated her child with a cloth "expelling evil spirits." According to investigators, the woman is a member of a religious sect that appeared in Azerbaijan recently. An investigation is ongoing. The woman will undergo a psychological examination.
Commenting on this case a psychiatrist Isazade Azad said that the inadequate behaviour of members of radical religious sects - a common phenomenon. However, in this case the talk is most likely about abnormal psychology. To give a precise answer it is necessary to examine the person and only then to say that the cause of death of a child was the mother’s participation in the sect. Such a crime could commit just mentally deranged man, the psychiatrist said. -16D-
