Young writers held a rally in support of Akram Aylisli
On Sunday, in the park next to the monument of Sabir, a group of young writers conducted an action in defense of Akram Aylisli.
Elnur Astanbeyli told reporters that the action was carried out in defense of Aylisli. He condemned the harsh speeches in Milli Majlis against the writer.
"The Constitution guarantees the right to freedom of expression, no one has the right to blackmail or threaten his countrymen," he said. He reminded that the threat caused the death of writer-publicist Rafiq Tagi.
Astanbeyli also condemned the action, arranged by the authorities before the writer's house Aylisli, calling the actions anti-democratic.
Gunel Mevlut said that anyone would be hard pressed to put restrictions on a writer. "If something negative happens to the writer, the responsibility for this will be borne by the authorities,” she said. -23B-
