Baku/08.06.23/Turan: Ziyafat Abbasova, a member of the Azerbaijan Democracy and Welfare Party, told about the details of her forced placement in a mental hospital.

According to her, on June 6, at about 11:00, five police officers came to the shelter where she lives in the village of Zabrat and took her to the 15th police station.

"I asked them to let me change clothes, take medicines, they did not allow me. I told them at the police that they would bring my medicines, but they did not do it. I felt bad there," Abbasova told the Turan news agency. Abbasova further reported that she was brought to the republican neuropsychiatric dispensary.

"They treated me well there, listened to me, brought my medicines. Yesterday I was told that I have no psychological disorders, I am completely healthy. The chief physician himself talked to me for an hour," Abbasova said. In the evening, she was taken to the city hospital N3, where she also has no complaints about the staff.

The activist reported that her mobile phone remained at the police station and the device has not yet been returned to her. "When I was brought to the department, they demanded to hand over my phone to them. They thought that when they took me away, I took something on video," Abbasova said.

She believes that these actions against him were committed by the police because she defends her rights and criticizes the authorities. The Interior Ministry could not be reached for comment. –06B-
