Some states, which have supported the Armenian occupation for 32 years and advised to reckon with reality by maintaining the status quo and are hysterical about Azerbaijan's military victory, are trying to present the liberation of the occupied territories as a religious confrontation by claiming that historical, cultural, and religious monuments in Karabakh are under threat.
After the tripartite agreement, when Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Lavrov, who was the first to speak on the issue, said that they would hold discussions with UNESCO on the protection of historical, religious, and cultural monuments in the conflict zone, there was a campaign on this topic in the Russian mass media.
After that, the chairman of the State Duma committee, S. Gavrilov, called on Azerbaijan to "protect religious monuments in the conflict zone and allow free visits." According to him, there is a danger that "radical religious groups brought from Syria and stationed in the region" could destroy these monuments.
The President of Azerbaijan, who always commented on the issue and guaranteed the security of Armenians living in Karabakh and the protection of cultural heritage, also discussed the issue with his Russian counterpart, Putin.
At a meeting on the situation in the conflict zone, President Putin expressed satisfaction with the position of the President of Azerbaijan on humanitarian issues. After all this, it is not understandable why Russian peacekeepers still maintain a post set up at the request of "armed priest" Ovanes, an Armenian citizen, who called for terror, near the ninth-century Khudavang Albanian monastery in Vang village of Kalbajar. It should be noted that this monument was protected by the Azerbaijani state and the rural population before the occupation of Kalbajar. This will undoubtedly be the case after the release of Kalbajar on the 25th of the month.
This issue has created a pretext for some Western countries, especially France, which have been hostile to our country since the beginning of the war, and their media outlets to slander Azerbaijan. France, which has been providing comprehensive assistance to Armenia for 30 years, is trying to disrupt the peace process that began on November 10 and manipulate the monuments by presenting the events in the region as a religious confrontation. Examples include the French President's speech at the Hayastan Foundation Marathon, the Foreign Ministry's statement, and the expected discussions in the Senate.
The Guardian reports that 3,500 (??) Armenian monasteries, churches, and crusaders in post-war Karabakh are allegedly in danger. The figure cited by Armenians is the pinnacle of fraud. The same figure was included in the address of the head of the Union of Armenians of Russia, Abramyan, to President Putin. Abramyan, one of the main ideologues and sponsors of Armenian fascism, asked Putin to protect the "ancient and early medieval Armenian monuments" in Karabakh, the "very valuable" ancient city of Tigranakert (excavations in Aghdam), the Amaras temple belonging to the early Christian period (belonging to the 4th century Caucasian Albania), the medieval monuments of Ganjasar, Khudavang (called Dadivank by Armenians) monasteries, the Armenian Church in Shusha, and the site of the burial in Shusha in 2019 from the grave of Kim Bakshi, one of the main friends of Armenians in Russia.
Unfortunately, the states and organizations that have made these claims have not yet commented on the destruction of Azerbaijani historical, cultural, and religious monuments in the occupied territories for 30 years, the keeping of cows and pigs in mosques. It would be right for relevant government agencies of Azerbaijan to invite the representatives of these countries, especially French President Macron, the representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations to visit liberated territories and to show on the spot who is a barbarian, a vandal, a terrorist. The first step in this direction was taken by visiting Fuzuli city. There are benefits to visit all the liberated areas in order. During these visits, it will be seen how many mosques, including Ashaghi Govharagha and Yukhari Govharagha mosques, in Shusha, Uzeyir bey and Bulbul's house museums, Natavan's palace, the mausoleum of Karabakh khan's vizier, Vagif, were destroyed. How the palace of Panah khan, the Friday mosque in Aghdam, Hamza Sultan and Sultan Ahmad’s palaces, mosques, shrines, places of worship, stone statues, and mounds in Lachin were destroyed. It will be known how the Azykh and Taglar caves, Garakopak, Uzarliktapa, and other mounds in the occupied territories were used for military purposes and destroyed. It will be known that pigs and other animals are kept in some mosques in Jabrayil, Zangilan, Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Gubadli districts, which were liberated from occupation. It will become clear how "ancient and civilized" Armenians committed atrocities, destroying thousands of historical, cultural, and religious monuments in the occupied territories. Even vandals who lived thousands of years ago did not do such barbarism.
In fact, the purpose of all this noise is different. Armenians, who are experienced in false propaganda, and their supporters are trying to create such an atmosphere to divert attention from the barbarism and war crimes committed in the liberated territories. The answer should be to quickly investigate the war crimes committed as a result of the Armenian occupation, to complete the assessment of the damage, and to appeal to the International Court of Justice.
