Armenia does not show constructiveness-Jeyhun Bayramov
Baku/11.05.21/Turan: The Armenian side slows down the process of normalizing the situation in the region and does not show constructivism. This was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at a joint briefing with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on May 11 in Baku.
Among such facts, he pointed out the refusal of the Armenian side to provide maps of minefields in the territories liberated from the occupation.
He also rejected the attempts of the Armenians to present the saboteurs captured in December last year in Karabakh as prisoners of war.
The members of this group are being investigated in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law.
"Representatives of the Red Cross have access to the detainees, they have contact with family members," Bayramov said.
In his turn, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said that the key to further normalization of the situation in the region lies in compliance with all the agreements of the trilateral agreement of November 9. These agreements include everything necessary to resolve the situation and are aimed at unblocking communications in the region.
There is every reason to hope that in the near future there will be results of this work, Lavrov said.
In his turn, Bayramov noted that the work on unblocking is going on intensively and six meetings of the trilateral working group were held. There is more progress on some issues than on others, " Bayramov said. He called the internal political situation in Armenia the reason for the delay.
At the same time, both ministers did not specify the deadlines of implementation of transport projects. The issue of unblocking communications should be resolved taking into account the interests of all interested parties - Azerbaijan , Armenia, Russia, Turkey, Iran and neighboring countries, Lavrov said.
Both ministers did not delve into humanitarian issues, bypassing with general phrases. All humanitarian issues should be resolved as quickly as possible. So, Lavrov said that the return of the bodies of the dead, missing persons and mine maps was discussed in Yerevan. "Preliminary steps have been taken and we expect that the issue will be resolved soon," he said. - 02D-
