Competition for National Book Award
The National Book Award (NBA) in the name of development of Azerbaijani literature has announced a new contest. NBA was founded by the publishing house Ali and Nino in 2009 in order to attract public attention to Azerbaijani literature. The general sponsor of the project is the mobile operator Bakcell, and the official sponsor is Bank Respublika.
As reported by the founder of NBA, the head of the publishing house Ali and Nino, Nigar Kocharli, this year's jury has been increased from 15 to 19.
Work for the award must be submitted by November 16 by e-mail or mail. Each work should be not less than 40,000 characters.
Prior to March 1, 2013 experts will identify the 20 best works, and until March 15, they will select 10 of them to present to the jury. The winners will be announced on June 4.
The first place will be awarded a cash prize of three thousand manat, the 2nd place - 2,000 AZN, and the third place - 1,000 AZN.
In addition, 300 manat will be awarded to the author of the best fairy tale for children, the youngest writer and for the best poem.

Ahmet Güneştekin answered questions from Turan Information Agency a few days after the opening of his solo exhibition, Lost Alphabet, held in the 8,000-square-meter indoor halls of the Feshane Cultural Center, managed by the Istanbul Municipality. The exhibition, inaugurated by Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, will remain open until July 20.
