Presentation of the documentary film “Dalan” about the history of conflicts in the region
Baku/02.03.23/Turan: On March 1, the presentation of the film "Dalan" ("Dead End") was held at the Nizami Cinema Center. This is a journalistic investigation by Shahin Hajiyev, the ditor of Turan news agency, about the roots and causes of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
Together with Armenians, researcher Philip Ekozyanets and peacemaker George Vanyan, he is looking for answers to the question: why Turks and Armenians, Armenians and Azerbaijanis have become enemies.
The investigation begins with the First World War and ends with the period after the Second Karabakh War.
Foreign archives and foreign historians help to understand the events of those years, revealing the role of third forces. The author is looking for answers to today's questions in today's Armenia, in its current elite.
A comparison of the actions of the Armenians of Turkey at the beginning of the 20th century with the actions of their compatriots in modern Armenia suggests that the causes of the tragedy of 1915 and the current situation of the Armenians are largely similar.
Therefore, the main question today, as well as 100 years ago, remains the same: is this nation able to find a way out of the endless historical impasse. As events have shown, Armenians cannot do this without changing their thinking, without abandoning historical myths and without such as George and Philip.
The 51-minute film was shot intermittently for five years (2017-2022) in six countries: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Russia, Turkey, and the USA.
The film was shot by "Fil" production with the support of Public TV, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The screenplay is written by Shain Hajiyev, directed by Teymur Hajiyev, produced by Ismail Safarali.
In the coming weeks, the film will be shown on Public Television of Azerbaijan. ---02B--
