The International Youth Film Festival START Kicks off in Baku
On November 28-30, Baku will host the VIII International Youth and Student Film Festival START. The event is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Centre of Young Cinema Filmmakers.
As the President of the festival, Feyruz Shamyev, told Turan, this short film competition will involve 87 animated, feature and documentary films. They were selected by the tender committee from 250 papers presented by young filmmakers from more than 20 countries.
The films will be judged by a jury of film professionals, including the winners of the European festivals.
According to Shamyev, the festival is dedicated to the memory of the first Azerbaijani cinematographer Gamar Salamzadeh.
The festival prize will be awarded in the categories "Best Feature Film", "Best Documentary", “Best Animated Film”, "Best Experimental Film" and "Best Film - Grand Prix."
The VIII International Youth and Student Film Festival START has been running since 2004 and was founded by the Center for Young Filmmakers Cinema.
The festival will take place at the Nizami Movie Center. The films start at 11.00. - 16D-

Ahmet Güneştekin answered questions from Turan Information Agency a few days after the opening of his solo exhibition, Lost Alphabet, held in the 8,000-square-meter indoor halls of the Feshane Cultural Center, managed by the Istanbul Municipality. The exhibition, inaugurated by Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, will remain open until July 20.
