Will the Karabakh Armenians, who are in a desperate situation, come to Baku for negotiations?
Baku/28.03.23/Turan: According to information released by the Armenian side, last Saturday, on March 25, as a result of the actions of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, the dirt road between Khankendi and Turshsu was completely blocked.
They used this road to connect four "rural communities" of the Khankendi and Shusha regions, the Armenian service of “Radio Liberty” - “Azatutyun” writes, referring to the Karabakh separatists.
One of the separatist leaders, Artur Harutyunyan, told “Azatutyun” that it was impossible to move along this road, since the Azerbaijani military completely controlled the road from the height they occupied.
Meanwhile, yesterday the Azerbaijani authorities invited representatives of the Armenian community of Karabakh to a meeting to discuss reintegration issues.
"The Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in continuation of the meeting held in the city of Khojaly on March 1 and the invitation dated March 13, once again invites representatives of the Armenian community of Karabakh to hold a meeting in the first week of April in Baku to discuss issues of reintegration, as well as the implementation of infrastructure projects in Karabakh," the official message of the Presidential Administration said.
Political commentator Oktay Gasimov comments on the events taking place in the "Difficult Question" program.
According to him, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, having occupied a height near which three dirt roads converge at once, along which it was possible to bypass the Lachin road and drive to Armenia and having equipped a post there, established control over them. This was done in order to put an end to the supply of weapons, ammunition, mines, and other military equipment by Armenia to illegal Armenian armed formations stationed in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan, as well as the transportation and rotation of personnel of the Armenian Armed Forces.
"This is an important step, and other steps will be taken in different directions soon. One of these steps is Baku's call to hold a meeting in Baku and discuss issues of Karabakh's reintegration into Azerbaijan," Gasimov said.
In his opinion, this is a clear message from Azerbaijan, the essence of which boils down to the fact that you should not even think about revenge. At the same time, Azerbaijan invites the Armenians of Karabakh to dialogue and reintegrate with Azerbaijan.
"The choice is up to the Armenians. But it is premature to think that they have drawn any conclusions from what is happening. Most recently, the separatists held a meeting of the so-called "Security Council" following the results of which it is clear that they will not go for voluntary reintegration," the observer stressed.--0--
