
25-fold increase in transactions with corporate securities in dollars
The volume of securities transactions in Azerbaijan in January-August totaled 7,454,997,960 manat (+ 55% as of 1 September last year).
According to the State Securities Committee (SSC), the volume of transactions with corporate securities for 8 months increased 3.3 times - up to 3,415,835,850 manat. In particular, the volume of transactions in shares amounted to 1,069,447,720 manat (up 2.6 times), including in the primary market - 917,766,860 manat (up 3.1 times), the secondary market - 151,680,860 manat (+ 24%).
The volume of transactions in corporate bonds in the period increased by 3.7 times - up to 2,346,388,130 manat, including in the primary market in AZN - 117,012,914 manat (minus 28%), the secondary market also in the national currency - 518 277,300 manat (30%). The volume of USD transactions in the primary market amounted to 1,706,383,730 manat (up to 25 times).
According to the SSC, in the reporting period, the volume of transactions in government securities increased by 7% - up to 4,039,162,110 manat. For example, in the reporting period, the volume of transactions with Treasury bonds amounted to 77,824,080 manat (+ 4%), with the Central Bank notes - 425,895,040 manat (+ 61%), and repo transactions - 3,535,442,990 manat (+ 3%).
Recall, last year the volume of transactions in securities amounted to 8,824,389,430 manat (minus 6% per year). --17D-

The EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has been declining in recent years, as reflected in reports by international rating agencies and the company’s own financial statements.
