The Ministry of Taxes has completed the publication of data on commercial structures that passed state registration in January this year. Their analysis by Turan showed that about a quarter of the directors of new companies are only seven people.
According to estimates of Turan, in January, the state registered 487 companies, including several branches and representative offices of foreign companies. The agency, resting on several factors (similarity of addresses, low amount of share capital, the identity of the legal representatives and others), believes that at least 188 of them (38.6%) are fake.
Over 19 working days of January the powers of Director of 32 companies were entrusted to Aydin Ahmed Oglu Yarmamedov. Elkhan Abdulgani Oglu Vahidov was appointed Director of one company less. Dadash Nazar Oglu Mehdiyev will control 19 companies and Zaur Boyukkishi Oglu Nagiyev - 15 companies. They are followed by Maarif Vagif Oglu Hamidov (10), Jeyhun Vagif Oglu Huseynov (7) and Rashadat Adalat Oglu Mammadov (5). "Cloning" of such companies continued in February.
The registration place of these fake companies is villages of the Yardimli, Guba, Hajigabul, Lankaran and other areas. The names of the founders of these companies are not made public. Since the summer of 2012, this information has been considered confidential.
Note that these companies are mainly used in dubious public procurement. Turan IA has repeatedly written on this subject, emphasizing the fact that these purchases are state budget money appropriation with fake companies involved. However, law enforcement agencies yet hold a deathly silence. --08B

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
