4,362 Legal Entities Registered
In the first half of 2016 Azerbaijan registered 4,362 legal entities, as well as branches and representative offices of foreign companies.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the number of companies registered by the state increased compared to the same period in 2015 by 29.7%.
According to the regional division, Baku has 63.1%, the Absheron economic region has 7.7%, Aran ER has 11%, Lankaran ER has 4.7%, etc. new companies.
Independent research found that many companies are created by unknown persons to participate in public procurement. One and the same person manages dozens or even over a hundred companies. These companies are established mainly in rural areas.
An exception is the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, where such proxy companies are practically unavailable. This year no more than 10 legal entities have been set up in Nakhchivan. However, the results of tender procedures in the NAR are not made public. ------08
