Today Baku has hosted a meeting of members of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) with the leadership of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan led by Chairman Aydin Aliyev. The main theme of the event was "Modern methods of customs regulation, to support the development of foreign trade."
Aydin Aliyev at the meeting spoke about the activities of the SCC, the innovations and changes in customs legislation, and stressed the need for holding such meetings in order to increase the adhesion of public institutions to the private sector.
Along with this, the application of rational procedures and forms of customs control while crossing the customs border of goods in international trade was discussed.
Especially SCC head touched the issues of the application of the principle of "single window" and the use of new technologies and the development of "e-customs".
The meeting discussed the use of modern tools of customs regulation, the purpose of which is to support international trade.
The event touched on the partnership between the private and public sector in order to improve the reliability and efficiency of international trade.
Aydin Aliyev said that the daily checks his e-mail from the official website of the State Customs Committee and representatives of the private sector can apply directly to him with their problems and suggestions.
The event lasted for 2.5 hours, of which 2 hours and 15 minutes were held behind closed doors, and the companies had the opportunity to express concerns and suggestions directly to the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, to receive timely answers and solutions to these problems.
CEIBC was established in June 2002 with the participation of Caspian Energy International Media Group and supported by major oil and gas companies operating in the Caspian-Black Sea region. Chairman of CEIBC is the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Since the inception CEIBC has helped to attract revenue from the oil industry on the development of non-oil sector. CEIBC operates in 50 countries and has been active in the direction of supporting dialogue between public authorities and the private sector. --08D -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
