U.S. Embassy sponsors the visit of Leading American sports journalist
The United States Embassy in Baku is pleased to announce the visit of Jane MacManus to Azerbaijan from April 12 to April 15, 2013. Jane MacManus, a leading American sports journalist at the ESPN TV news network, professor of journalism at Columbia University, and professional roller derby player, will give public presentations in Baku and Ganja about sports journalism, women’s sports in America, and her personal experience as a professional female athlete.
Ms. MacManus is in Azerbaijan as part of the United States Embassy’s “American Speaker Series,” a program that brings prominent Americans to Azerbaijan to increase cultural understanding between both countries. All of Jane MacManus’s presentations are free and open to the public and with Azerbaijani translation. The U.S. Embassy invites all Azerbaijanis interested in promoting women sports and sports journalism in Azerbaijan to attend any of the following lectures:
