Acquisitions of euro in September rose 17.5 times
Turnover of non-cash foreign exchange transactions in September 2012 totaled the equivalent of 3,346 million ($ 4.3 billion), an increase over the month by 35%. Only 9 months of this year, foreign exchange turnover stood at 23.72 billion manats. Compared to the same period last year, it increased 33.6%.
In this September share trading with the U.S. dollar was 28.3%. Share of the operations with the Russian ruble fell to 28.4%, while the share of the euro in the market has reached 15.9%.
The volume of cash transactions in U.S. dollars in September was $ 947 million. This was $ 87 million or 8.4% lower than in August. During the reporting month, sales of the currency fell by 11.2%. Compared to the same period in 2011, in January-September this year, the total turnover of cash exchange operations with the U.S. currency rose by $ 3,214 million, or 58.7%, to $ 8,691 million.
The volume of cash transactions euros for the first nine months 2012 amounted to 1,843 million (units of the currency), which is 71 percent more than last year. The volume of purchases of the currency by the population rose in September 17.5 times and reached a record level of 155 million.
The total turnover of cash exchange operations in January-September this year with the Russian ruble and the British pound sterling was equal to 6,883 million, and respectively, 21.3 million.
The average exchange rate of cash dollar to manat fell in September by 2 points, and over the past 12 months - by 12 basis points to 0.7857 AZN for 1 USD. - 15B -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
