Ali Abbasov: in 2017 we will earn $ 8 billion in the ITC sphere
The Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, Ali Abbasov, said that in the coming years, the country will have great funds from the ICT sphere.
Speaking at a conference on the new goals and objectives in 2013-2018 years , he said that Azerbaijan plans to bring to the international ICT market their products. Without specifying what kind of products , the minister said that Azerbaijan has a leading position in the CIS for the development of the Internet. "Azerbaijan has already earned $10 million from the operation of an artificial satellite and returned 70% of loans taken for its launching."
Currently, the country earns $ 2 billion a year in the field of ICT, said Abbasov . "Our goal is to bring the level of income of this sector to 8-8.5 billion by 2017. Annual growth in this area is 15-18 %.
Abbasov said that by 2020 all public services will be provided through e-government.
He also assured that a favorable business environment will be created, a new tax policy will be introduced, and industrial parks will be created.
Oil revenues will be invested in the development of technology and the non-oil sector.
By 2020, the volume of state investments in the ICT sector will be $ 3.3 billion, approximately the same amount will comprise private investment, said Ali Abbasov. -03C-
