
Almost 98% of POS Terminals Work in Baku
In January-September, the number of ATMs in Azerbaijan increased by 5%.
According to the report of the Central Bank, as of October 1, 2014 the number was 2 543. In Baku there are 1 440 ATMs and in the regions there are 1 103.
In addition, over the past 9 months there was a significant increase in the number of POS terminals installed at trade and services. By October 1 of the year their number reached 58,609 units (+ 76.1%). Almost two-thirds (40 165 POS terminals with growth of 38.8%) of the equipment are housed in Baku, the remaining 18,444 units with an increase of 4.2 times are placed in the regions. The main portion (57,185 or 97.6%) nominally operates in the capital. --17D-
