An agreement on the transfer of mobile numbers
The service "number portability" has officially come into law after completion of formalities. But it will not be soon, since the issue of uniform tariffs for mobile communications "hangs in the air."
Information Centre of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has signed an agreement on the eve of all the local mobile operators on the use of this service.
The agreement was signed with LLC Azercell Telecom, Bakcell and Azerfon. In addition, last Friday to the ministry discussed the situation in connection with the application service "number portability" with the leaders of mobile operators.
The Ministry of Communications has announced the launch of the service, after the mobile operators will complete the process of preparatory work, including solve issues related to tariffs.
As reported earlier, the essence of "number portability" is to eliminate the dependence of a mobile subscriber of one operator. In particular, the implementation will allow subscribers if they wish to change their GSM-operator, without changing the code and number. For that person it is enough to write a statement about the change of operator. - 17D-
