Another Azerbaijani appointed Vice President of BP-Azerbaijan company
Azerbaijani resident Orhan Guliyev, current operation manager of Chirag and deep-water Guneshli sections, has been appointed Vice President for Technical Safety and Operation Risks in BP-Azerbaijan company, reported the company.
Guliyev will start to work on June 15, 2006. He will replace the current Vice President Robert Watt, who has retired after 37 years on this position.
“This corresponds to the BP’s plan for nationalization of the staff. During 20 years of work in BP Guliyev has accumulated a great experience in operations and implementation of big projects in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. In the company he occupied the positions of chief of the group for the offshore operations and the platform manager, which require high technical skills. He has also worked in the past as engineer and project manager in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Southern Caucasian pipeline and Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli projects as well as occupied various positions in BP’s engineering divisions in the United Kingdom,” says the same source.
Guliyev has graduated from the Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University with the Master’s Degree and has also got his Doctor’s degree from the Azerbaijan Oil Academy.
He has a Diploma of the Oil & Gas Management Specialist from the Henley College, UK. In 2014 he graduated from the Operation Academy at the Massachusetts Technology University, US.
In 2009 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has awarded Guliyev with Taraggi medal for contribution to development of the Azerbaijani oil and gas industry. He is married and has two children.
At present BP-Azerbaijan has four Vice Presidents, who are Azerbaijani residents.-0—

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
