Authorities Decide to Restore Part of Ring Railway in Absheron
Major reconstruction of the railway Baku-Sumgait-Pirshagi, 29.2 km long, has started, according to the Azerbaijan Railway Office. The work is carried out by Demiryolservis LLC.
Builders have started the repair of a 2.2 km segment of Narimanov - Beyuk Shor. Restoration of the traffic on the route Baku-Sumgait-Pirshaghi will allow residents of settlements Eighth Kilometer, Sabunchu, Zabrat-Pirshaghi-Kurdakhani, Goradil, Novkhani and Saray to use this form of transport.
Restoration of the road will also allow the movement of trains between Baku and Sumgait on the ring road. Thus, trains will run on the route Baku-Pirshaghi-Sumgait-Khirdalan-Baku and Baku-Khirdalan-Sumgait-Pirshaghi-Baku. At the same time, the way for passengers traveling from suburban communities and dacha arrays to Sumgait and Baku will be significantly reduced.
Earlier, the government recklessly dismantled most of the ring rail, on which the inhabitants of Baku and villages got to their dachas and back. The lands on which the suburban trains traveled were used by oligarchs and senior government officials to build villas for themselves. -06B--
