AZAL Reported on Its Activities during Formula 1 in Baku
From 10 to 22 June, during the period of preparation and holding the European Grand Prix Formula 1 in Baku, the Heydar Aliyev International Airport served more than 118 thousand passengers and more than 640 flights. This is stated in the press release by the airline AZAL.
The number of arriving passengers exceeded 41 thousand. There were 6 charter flights with 758 passengers. In this case the airline does not report on the number of arrivals of foreign nationals.
In the same period, 99 flights were made by business jets (Business Aviation), which served 372 passengers.
Peak days for arrival of participants of the European stage of Formula 1 were 14 and 16 June. Every day the Baku airport was receiving up to 6 thousand passengers.
During the races Cargo Silk Way West Airlines, Cargolux Airlines and Nippon Cargo Airlines made 7 charter flights and 1 part charter flight with racing cars and equipment of Formula 1. The turnover of cargo amounted to more than 1.6 thousand tons.
Note that, according to the State Statistics Committee, for five months the Azerbaijani airlines transported 627,000 passengers. This was a little fewer than for the comparable period of 2015.
The number of passengers served in Azerbaijan’s airports (Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Lankaran and Gabala), including transportation made by foreign airlines, is not reported. ---08D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
